Foreign Affairs Ministry closes premium passport centres in Accra and Kumasi

  The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the closure of the Premium Passport Application Centres in Accra and Kumasi, effective February 20, 2026. In a press statement released on Monday, February 23, the Ministry said the closure affects all applicants currently using these centres, including those with pending applications. Affected clients have been directed to visit the Regional Passport Application Centres for all future passport processing. Applicants requiring assistance during the transition are advised to contact the Passport Office Client Service Unit at 0302-754-200. The Ministry reassured the public that the closure will not compromise the quality or efficiency of passport services. “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to take this opportunity to assure the general public of its commitment to deliver quality public service,” the statement said.  Mr Desmond Danso Darkwa , President of the DUFaL, said to ensure the promotion and development of the oil palm industry, the Association would undertake strong consultations and advocacy work to ensure that land acquisition, which is a major constraint to production, becomes attractive to investors and growers to expand their production. He said the Association would promote the adoption of best management practices by smallholder farmers to increase their farm yields and also ensure the farmers adhere to the approved sustainable agricultural practices.
